Research interests
My research interests include solar flares, the solar corona, chromosphere, hydrodynamic modeling, solar irradiance, and magnetohydrodynamics. In particular, I work on understanding the magnetic reconnection process that drives heating and produces sharp changes in the solar irradiance that can then impact the Earth's ionosphere.
Candidate's preferred background
Preferred candidates would be recent PhDs in solar physics, space science, or astrophysics, with experience in tying observations to modeling in order to constrain and understand the physics of the solar atmosphere.
