Visas
If not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United Sates, all Postdoctoral Fellows must be able to provide documentation of their eligibility to work in the U.S. prior to beginning employment. Although it is the responsibility of the Fellow, UCAR can provide assistance in securing visas, and should be contacted as soon as the offer of employment is made. Please reach out to Kate Rodd at krodd@ucar.edu with any questions regarding these procedures.
This includes:
- Advising on immigration status, employment, travel, and the visa application process. (Please note that we cannot advise on personal legal needs or US taxes - tax law, filing returns)
- Issuing immigration documents, visa sponsorship, authorizations, and certification/verification letters
- Helping foreign nationals maintain legal status within the U.S.
- Providing information and resources on life in the U.S.
Should you secure the NASA Jack Eddy Heliophysics Postdoctoral Fellowship we will put you in touch with the UCAR’s Immigration Specialist for any questions you might have.
Please address any questions regarding this information to Kate Rodd or Cindy Bruyere.
